I have some exciting news to share ... We were matched with a Boston Marathon runner, Cindy Baumgarten, who is running to raise funds for the American Liver Foundation...our hope is that one day children born with Biliary Atresia will have a cure and not need a "bandaid" such as a liver transplant to allow them to live.  A local magazine did a story about Cindy and Savvy and I wanted to share it with you.

On another exciting news front .... Savannah is going to meet the COTA rock star, Rick Logren, President of the Children's Organ Transplant Association!  Yeah...I have explained that we are COTA groupies who would love to meet the entire band but Rick is like the lead singer of the band...how cool to be able to hang with him!  Why would he fly down to meet Savvy?  Well, why not?  But he isn't JUST flying to Florida to meet Savvy we are all going to film for a Lifetime show called, The Balancing Act.  April is Organ Donation Awareness month and what organization better speaks of this then one that is solely dedicated to help families of children who need life saving transplants....frankly, I am more excited to meet Rick in person and to give him a hug then I would be to meet Madonna....now if it were Elmo...there would be a tough competition but don't tell Rick that!

I don't have the air date of the show but don't worry...as soon as I know I will share!  Now, help us out and keep spreading the word...organ donors save lives...please leave a legacy of life and tell your family.  I will never forget the desperation of 8 months waiting to hear if Savvy would receive her Gift of Life....no one should ever have to go through that....
