So we headed to the ER last night after a bout of black tarry stool...which is commonly associated with a GI bleed. I am going to make this short simply because I am tired. We were sent home last night with a "come back if things don't change" speech. Her testing looked fine but the Xray showed her spleen to be pretty large...larger then normal for her...not sure becuase it is not her transplant team...actually I think the dr was a bit put off that her transplant team was not the one seeing her but when your kid has what you think is a GI bleed you take her to the local ER not hop on a plane and take her out of state. Another story for another day. His only saving grace in my book was his admiration for our little Warrior Princess....he commented about how impressed he was with how she takes her needles for her labs. This is something that we are proud of her for but frankly wished she freaked out like any other kid because it only happens once in a blue moon...but this is her life.
So...this morning...guess what....we go running out again with panties in a ziploc and the beautiful stool sample. Oh...let me tell you Ziploc people...you ought to be ashamed of yourselves for stamping "Fresh Smell" on your bags...I can tell you there was nothing "Fresh" smelling about our bag in the car...no sir.... even with the double ziploc!!!
This time we called her peds office and got her seen there first (her peds office sent us straight to ER last night)...there is a concern with her EOS cells (she could be developing a new food allergy..fun fun) but it looks like the culprit for the stools is rotavirus. We are home again and are awaiting the results to the labs. Savvy keeps begging to go to the playground and simply does not understand that we can't expose any other kids to the virus if that is what she has...she is not a happy camper.
Okay...gotta go take care of my little toxic butt :)
