"I want to wear my butt"...yeah...I had to hop on and blog just so I don't forget this little Savvy statement!  By the way the answer was "no, you have to put your underwear back on after you go potty!".

So, we are awaiting Super Papi's arrival.  The cake is baking in the oven and the party streamers are up.  We are ready for our birthday party!  Savvy came running in with a taper candle from the livingroom and said, "I have a birthday candle"...well...when you have a birthday candle you need a birthday cake ... right?!

She has made another recipe on her No Moo site...this best part of the recipe is the commercial break on the video..that is my fave atleast - you can check it out here - nomooforme.blogspot.com/2010/05/yeah-chick-pea-balls-and-yeah-csn.html

I just told Savvy we needed to go upstairs to clean her room and I got, "in 2 minutes Mami"...uhmmm....okay little Miss Sassy Pants...that gives me enough time to update the COTA site.  I only have good news to share!! Loving that!!

After being ridiculously cute at the doctor's office (yes..we had to dress up for him ... "Where is my tiara Mami?"...) we got a thumbs up!  FINALLY, everything looks good...she is OFFICIALLY DONE with whatever bug she had in her system....wooohooooo!!!

Tomorrow, we are going to join Cindy who ran the Boston Marathon to raise funds for the American Liver Foundation.  I have such a wonderful story to share about this run.  I actually received an email from a liver mom who ran the Boston Marathon herself (way to Go!).  She said she was "stumbling" when she ran into another runner with Savannah's picture on her shirt!!!  How cool is that!  So during the Boston Marathon Cindy was running wearing Savannah's picture and another runner actually recognized Savannah...I thought this was just one of those "ahhhh" moments that life has!

It is a rainy day today and I have to confess that we girls are still in our pj's ... yeah...we had lunch wearing our pjs!  We are chilling out...well atleast Mami is!  Super Papi is working and probably wishing he were in his pj's...but then he has not cleaned one dirty butt all day...atleast that I know of?!

To update on our educational assessment - it was done last week.  I have to tell you that it was thorough!  Seriously, how Savannah sat in a chair for 3 hours doing task after task is beyond me ... frankly, the walls were starting to close in on me after hour 2!  The chair kept getting smaller or my tush kept getting bigger .. not sure which but I tell ya I wanted to start to help to answer the questions so we could speed up the process!  Thing is that Savvy was very attentive ... I can't even imagine the torture one would go through with a child with a short attention span.  Savvy "likes school" she wanted to go back the next day!

It was raining all day today!  We looked at the Home Depot ad this morning and Savvy and I decided we wanted to plant a vegetable garden...she was so excited and I kept having to explain to her that we couldn't in the rain.  I think she went to sleep thinking I made that excuse up!  Well, she had a good time today filming for her "No Moo For Me!" blogsite...yea...I know the production crew isn't as professional as Lifetime but heck when you pay your Mami...I mean production crew with a Diet Coke...what can you expect?

Check her out:

Savvy is doing well!  NO more boogies!! Still has trouble breathing but it hasn't been 2 weeks yet so fingers are still crossed that it will resolve soon.  She has her educational assessment this week...I am certain Pre K will start soon for her..just a matter of what extra they will recommend ... all and all ...rainy day or not...my kid is doing good and that is all I can ask for!!!

Last night we had the pleasure of having dinner with Rick Lofgren, COTA President and CEO.  I am not easily impressed but I can tell you the moment I laid eyes on this man and got my first hug I was beyond impressed...and yes...Rick you can tell your wife...You are a ROCK STAR! Having dinner with you is a bigger highlight then it would be to meet Madonna!

We have been blessed to have had COTA enter into our lives at a time where life had exploded into a million pieces....COTA is a group of unsung heros.  They work to help families in the most devastating of times with the reality of fundraising because the cold hard fact is that an organ transplant is expensive even if you have insurance as we do.  It can easily lead a family to bankruptcy.

So, last night Savvy picked out her dress so we could go and have a "pardee"!  We met up for dinner and just had the loveliest of time with him...he is in town because we would be shooting a segment on Liftetime Channel's "The Balancing Act".  How lucky were we to be able to spend time with him...my only regret is that we didn't get to spend a week with him.

I wanted to give you a quick update...Savvy is doing amazingly well!!!  No more boogies ( 2 months is enough!).  So, my hope when I take her for the follow-up is that everything else has cleared up and her adenoids are back to normal...I adore this kid but I really don't care to look into a camera which is up her nose into her adenoids again!

Our little friend, Ayanna, is doing great!  Afterall, she is a Warrior Princess like Savvy...these germies beat them up but the girls swing back and come out on top!  Ayanna is still in the PICU but slowly and surely she is getting better and better (my heart is so happy about this!)...we had another little friend who had a very scary ER visit, Aiden, the sweetest little boy ever!  I am glad that he too is recovering and doing better!  These kids go through so much and yet if you were to meet them all that you would see is how adorable and great they are!!

Update

Looks like I messed up the link below...Thanks Yia Yia for letting me know.  I have tried to correct but either the computer does not allow me because I am not typing the magical keys or I simply have not had enough coffee today to do it properly....your guess is as good as mine.

So here is the link so you can copy and paste it...then download the latest issue.

I have some exciting news to share ... We were matched with a Boston Marathon runner, Cindy Baumgarten, who is running to raise funds for the American Liver Foundation...our hope is that one day children born with Biliary Atresia will have a cure and not need a "bandaid" such as a liver transplant to allow them to live.  A local magazine did a story about Cindy and Savvy and I wanted to share it with you.
